Job description

Fosse Support Services is a new and exciting division of Fosse Healthcare, who are the leading organisation in the midlands for home care support and agency work.

Support Services specialises in providing support to people with Learning disabilities, Mental health and Acquired brain injuries.

We have seen a huge growth in just a matter of months with our clientele rapidly growing day by day.

We are looking for support workers with experience in to join our growing team.

You will be supporting young people in their own homes, day centers and within a variety of community-based settings.

You will be responsible for gaining an awareness of the needs of the service user to assist them to maintain their physical, personal independence and choice. A key element of the role is the ability to communicate effectively with the service user, their families and other health and social care professionals. Specific tasks will be identified for each person and will vary according to individuals needs and choice.

You will be working with the service users by following a bespoke care plan to ensure all their individual needs are met at all times. Promoting their independence should be at the fore most for everything you do.

What are we looking for in our Support Workers?

  • Experience in a similar role is a must
  • DBS on the update service is desirable (not essential)
  • Training within the last year is a bonus but full training will be provided
  • Holds a UK driving license and has access to your own vehicle
  • Desire to support individuals to enable them to live their best possible life.

 

The responsibilities of an support worker are:

  • Promoting and encouraging young people to live healthy, happy and independent lives
  • Communicating with relevant people and following the programmes in place to ensure all needs are met
  • Encouraging, assisting or providing personal care (in some but not all settings) to promote hygiene
  • Meal preparation and assistance
  • Moving & Handling people using equipment (training/support provided)
  • Planning and taking part in activities with the young person
  • Encouraging and assisting with Community access
  • Accurate record keeping & meeting individual’s needs

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Salary: £10.00-£14.50 per hour
